Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family.

In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve’s illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories.

We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief.

Meet the Nikon Coolpix S1200pj, which is a 14.1 MP camera and has a 5x optical zoom. There is also a one-touch movie-recording button where you can shoot videos in 720P HD. The built-in projector has 20 lumens and will project an image or video onto any flat surface, up to 60 inches away.

In addition to projecting movies and images, the Nikon can project web images, and it has built-in audio.

One nice feature is that the camera comes with the included cable to plug in your iOS device. With many products this is an optional accessory, costing anywhere from $30 to $50.

The Nikon Coolpix S1200pj comes in either pink or black and will be selling for approximately $430. It is expected to be available sometime in mid-September. Maybe this would be a great add-on for your new iPhone 5?

Although it is a bit expensive in the world of point and shoot cameras, it might be a great option if you are thinking about a pico projector or something similar. If you are a gadget lover, this one is sure to impress when you pull it out and show your friends all the recent pictures you took on your iPhone!

Across the country, in cities like Mumbai, in rooms with no air conditioning, you will find developers sitting around laptops writing code. MoFirst is one of several companies that have space for these workers.

The developers in India charge a fraction of the price that companies would find in Silicon Valley. MoFirst charges clients in the U.S. and U.K. $15 to $20 per hour versus the $50 to $100 you would find in the United States. This provides an efficient way for companies to generate higher revenue.

The demand for developers who write code for Apple iOS devices has risen over 20 percent in India during the second quarter of this year, “The iPhone stuff is very, very hot,” said Ajar Shanker, who just recently moved back to India after spending 12 years in the U.S. as a software writer.

The technology industry is very strong India, so this outsourcing boom of app development still has a lot of growth potential as it continues to evolve.

Slacker is similar to other streaming services such as Pandora, where users can create stations and listen to certain types of music, based on an artist or genre. However, Slacker is moving towards being more of a radio service instead of just music, as they are pursuing partnerships with companies like ESPN and ABC News along with offering a comedy channel.

ESPN will be a popular move for Slacker, as it will provide sports content where listeners can tune in 24 hours a day. Users can listen to shows like “Mike in the Morning,” “The Scott Van Pelt Show,” “SportsCenter” and other programs ESPN offers.

Slacker provides a basic free version of their service along with premium and plus subscriptions. The free version allows the listener to access the programs that are on the ESPN station, but you are stuck with the current programming.

The premium and plus subscriptions allow for a more personalized, ad-free experience with myESPN Radio. Listeners can set up customized radio stations based on their favorite teams, sports or ESPN programs. Users can skip certain shows and optionally add hourly SportsCenter updates to any other Slacker stations.

Currently, the plus subscription to Slacker is $3.99 per month and the premium version is $9.99. You can access all of the details about their subscriptions and what is included on their website.

This seems like a smart move for Slacker Radio, as listeners may be more willing to subscribe in order to have access to the customizable sports content. It also seems more reasonable than putting up with ads in the free version.

Bloomberg recently reported that Angry Birds creator, Rovio Entertainment, is in conversation with Starbucks and other retailers. The goal is to bring the virtual world of Angry Birds into the real world by providing their gear, making a movie and partnering with retailers.

The discussion with Starbucks has included providing digital leaderboards in the stores, where customers can see the top-scoring Angry Birds players. There are also some discussions about in-store promotions.

Wibe Wagemans, the former Microsoft Bing executive who now heads the marketing efforts at Rovio said, “Having leaderboards will encourage Starbucks customers to play Angry Birds on their devices, so they can see their scores spotlighted.”

The idea behind the partnership with Starbucks and other retailers is an effort to attract more customers and diversify sales. “Retailers get new customers who’ve not been to their stores yet, and repeat customers” said Wagemans.

All of this is ahead of an initial public offering, which Rovio says may happen within the next few years.

In the past, only certain HP printers utilized the AirPrint feature and many users were forced into purchasing a new printer from a limited selection. Now, with Canon entering the game, hopefully more printers will follow and AirPrint will become the standard.

AirPrint is compatible with the iPhone 3G and later, the iPod touch third generation and later, as well as the iPad

Instagram provides unique filtered effects for your iOS photos, and integrates them with social networking features. You can share all of your photo masterpieces with friends on Instagram or on Facebook.

One of the biggest changes in the new Instagram update is the live filters and tilt-shift. Tilt-shift lets you blur a portion of the picture and create interesting depth of field effects. This can all happen while you are taking the picture, instead of adding it later. Now, you can preview the image before you shoot, making it easier to show off your creative talent.

If you prefer, effects may be applied after the photo is taken, or to any of the photos currently on your phone. You can also change filters once they have been applied, even if they were taken in the live mode. All of the filter effects load much faster than in the previous version, almost instantly.

The update also includes four new filters and flexibility with the borders. Now you can turn the borders on and off. There are some smaller improvements such as faster viewing of your social network feed and a new icon.

If you have not checked out Instagram before, now is the time. It is a fun app, especially if you like to play around with photos. If you have Instagram, the new update makes it even better. Instagram works on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Best of all, it is free in the App Store!
