According to Bloomberg News, application development companies are outsourcing many jobs to India. The reason is the same as for other companies who have outsourced to India, and that is because of the considerably lower costs of production. However, app development in India is on the cutting edge.

Across the country, in cities like Mumbai, in rooms with no air conditioning, you will find developers sitting around laptops writing code. MoFirst is one of several companies that have space for these workers.

The developers in India charge a fraction of the price that companies would find in Silicon Valley. MoFirst charges clients in the U.S. and U.K. $15 to $20 per hour versus the $50 to $100 you would find in the United States. This provides an efficient way for companies to generate higher revenue.

The demand for developers who write code for Apple iOS devices has risen over 20 percent in India during the second quarter of this year, “The iPhone stuff is very, very hot,” said Ajar Shanker, who just recently moved back to India after spending 12 years in the U.S. as a software writer.

The technology industry is very strong India, so this outsourcing boom of app development still has a lot of growth potential as it continues to evolve.
